Perthshire PP13? ID = PP11, 1983
« on: February 27, 2014, 10:21:11 PM »
Is this correct?

I'm not too sure but going by similar examples I've looked at it would appear that it is.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Jess (?),
your weight appears to have a cane with P and 1983. This makes it too late for the PP13 which was only made up to 1977. It is infact a PP11 from 1983 when they first put a garland of canes around the outside.

I hope this helps,

Cheers,

Please follow the board guidelines when listing an item for sale that the board members have identified for you, as below. As in your current eBay listing for this paperweight.

Mods I think this needs adding as a permanent rule at the head of this section as it is not that easy to see in all honesty.

Nick

TECHIE TIPS: Linking to us in your sales
« on: November 07, 2008, 04:22:50 PM »
When you ask on the board for help with an identification and you get one or are given information which you did not have previously, we should appreciate it if you would add a credit back to the GMB for the help and information.

Doing so helps in several ways:

Potential bidders know that your attribution is correct as it's been authenticated by experts in that area of glass so they can buy from you with the confidence of knowing you know what you're talking about
It helps spread the word about the GMB itself as a resource for both buyers and sellers
It encourages our experts to keep helping you with identifications

Note:  eBay allows links back to an attribution source or credit, so don't worry that it will adversely impact on your eBay account. (See http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/listing-links.html for the eBay links policy.)

For eBay listings we would appreciate a link back along these lines:
Code: [Select]
Thank you to the Glass Message Board www.glassmessages.com for their help in identifying this item.

If you have a website or a webshop and would like to include an HTML link back to us, this is the code to do so:

Code: [Select]
<a href="http://www.glassmessages.com" target="_blank">The Glass Messages Board</a>

or for a BB Code link from another PHP message board, this code should do the trick:

Code: [Select]
The Glass Messages Board

which will give you a text link like this: The Glass Messages Board

The request for a reference / link back to the GMB is just that ... a polite request.

To make it a rule would require some sort of policing system which is not within the remit of the Board.

Sellers are free to add a link or not as they choose.

Yes sorry rule was the wrong word, but the problem is if someone just uses this part of the forum it is not visible, I know I hadn't seen it when I first joined here until someone pointed me to where  it was, even then it takes some finding.
I just thought that adding it here as a sticky at the top would further help to promote the board.

Hi, I think Nick's suggestion for a request to be posted on the main page is sensible if it can be done. I know that when I first became a member I didn't spend time reading the small print on other pages, I just got on with it. I suspect most Newbies do the same.

Cheers,
