SALVIATI ?????
« on: March 02, 2014, 06:04:39 PM »
Hi guys and girls , anybody want a good laugh ( although its not really funny ! ) - take a look at ebay item # 141208744629 - the strangest piece of Italian glass I've ever seen .
I know there are a lot of Italians in Scotland , but this is stretching things a bit and giving other glass sellers a bad name .
The previously sold items are interesting too if you haven't seen them before.

From looking at the listings this was the seller with the 'Peter Layton' vase - also discussed which I believe turned out to be Mdina.

I wrote to the seller to tell her what is is.
I got a messsage back saying; "Thank u I don't even know either maker to be honest!!"

I wrote to her about the Mdina Earthtones (with peter layton written on it) too, and got an equally vague reply, but in both cases, nothing was changed.

Five items with worse than suspect signatures does not sound like a coincidence to me.

I've reported it, and I know somebody else, not in this conversation, has too, they wrote to me about it!

You don't get much chance to explain anything, do you?  ::)

They don't care about items reported by us mere mortals. The company itself has to complain then the seller is stopped. Prada do it all the time as they are too big for ebay to ignore. Don't know if any glass makers or companies report ?? A lot no longer exist as companies  ???
Pete. :-)
