Venitian? Decanter and cordial set
« on: May 23, 2006, 06:34:39 PM »
I got this set a while back and I haven't had much luck finding any info on it. I was wondering if it could possibly be Venetian. Please let me know your opinion:

Thanks for any and all help!

most definitely Venetian silver deposit, I think it is a type of galvanic technique from the 1950s. There is a lot of souvenir ware out there in the same technique with gondolas & rocailles. The silver is very thin, and may disappear if you try to buff it up. But maybe you can make them shine again if you're very careful.

They were very tarnished when I got them and I got most of it off and with luck the silver wasn't damaged. Thanks for your help!
