Topic: Need Help Identifying this Drinking Glass Set!

I need help in determining if these glasses are antique. If they are, what category are they (carnival, depression, opalescent, etc.). I could not locate any manufacturer stamps our markings. This set was donated at a thrift store I manage and no further history is available. It's a set of ten with the same pattern/design but in different colors (two are red, two are green, two are blue, two are amber). Also, can anyone suggest a potential value? It looks like the glasses they have with those Turkish tea drinking sets.

Age is hard to tell since this style has been produced for a long time.  Is the glass very thin and light weight or is it beefier like modern glasses?  Thin and lightweight might suggest they are older. Also, when you look ver closely at the bottoms, do you see a great deal of wear with a zillion tiny scratches in all directions or are they relatively unworn.  Older glasses will normally have a great deal of wear.  And are the bottoms ground flat as a mirror, or are they slightly uneven as if they have not been ground flat like you see on a more modern glass?  Again, ground bottoms sometimes indicate age.  Of course these are just generalalities and you can find old glass and newer glass that goes counter to these ideas, but I find that more often than not they help determine the relative age.

Tea glasses sound likely.  I assume you do not have the metal frames with handles in which each one sits so the tea drinker does not touch the glass which is made very hot by the tea?

I think these are mechanically made and decorated tea glasses for the north African market and i think they may have been made by Bormioli Parks or by Pasabhce.

No, the turkish ones I saw did not have a metal case surround.

Lots of places over here sell sets like these, I've seen them in Pier 1, TJ Maxx etc.
