Frank thrower FT35 sunflower vase Dartington glass
« on: May 21, 2014, 11:06:15 AM »
Hi I found a original but sadly rather damaged Frank Thrower FT35 kingfisher blue sunflower vase last week and wanted to ask if anyone knows how many were made and whether it is worth getting repaired?. It has 3 chipped corners and a 6cm crack running from the top of the vase down the crease on the 4th.  I do not know if this is able to be put right or not or whether the repair would be very expensive. If it were in perfect condition how much would it be worth? and  what can I expect it to be worth now its damaged?. Do you think it is still a sought after item even in this condition? Any advice would be welcome as I havent been able to find much information on the net about this vase. The only ones i have seen images of are the more recently reproduced 1994 versions.  I am really pleased with how it looks despite the flaws, the colour is a wonderful teal blue and  it is still a striking piece :) and very very heavy about 5 kilos!. I have tried to upload an image hope it works.
