« on: May 21, 2014, 01:55:29 PM »
Hi all,i found this piece recently and can't make up my mind if it's UK made or not,it's has a wide polished pontil with wear to the foot and is  slightly squashed to an egg shape when looked at from above, there is also the number 55 near to the rim,i'm really not sure but thinking about 1880? any thoughts.

You're in the correct century but these are quite a bit earlier - it is more 1840s. Pity the stopper is AWOL. And yes, English no doubt.

Thanks Ivo,so the number is a stopper number,i thought it might be although there is absolutely no wear at all from a glass one, would it have been cork and metal type one.....coz i might have one somewhere ;) ;)
