Hi All,
does anyone know when Baccarat first started using their etched symbol on the base of their paperweights?

Regards,

Tony

Hi.  I think they used the etched mark before 1939 - I have seen some Baccarat Dupont style paperweights with the mark near the edge on the wear rim.

Thanks Alan,
I was cautious as I thought the etched symbol was only a more recent addition.

Thanks for the information,

Tony

In Glass fact file a-z, by GMB member Ivo, there is info stating that the etched mark was used on Perfume bottles in the 1920s and on Tableware after 1936.

Whether paperweights were marked in that way in the 1920s is open to research.
