Red-rimmed scandinavian(?) glass bowl, signed
« on: June 06, 2014, 12:28:27 AM »
I bought this bowl about a month ago, but I've been unable to find out who made it. According to the previous owner, he had won it in some form of lottery at the Carlsberg Brewery here in Denmark, where he worked. He knew nothing else about it, unfortunately.

I assume that it is scandinavian, but I could very well be wrong. I've been unable to read the entire signature/mark at the bottom.

The bowl is 14.5cm tall and has a diameter of 20.5cm.

I've included links to pictures of the bowl. The last picture is the signature at the bottom.

Looks very studio, might be worth asking Carlsberg.

I think the signature reads "Mike" - dare I suggest Michael Bang as a possible.

Thanks for the input so far. The best option might be to pursue the Carlsberg angle, since I also think that this must be studio glass of some kind. We have a lot of smaller glass studios around here that make glass, but I haven't found one yet that has a name that looks like the signature.

Also, I am 99% confident that this is not Michael Bang. Living here in Denmark, I've seen quite a bit of his Holmegaard work and it is signed differently, and looks differently.

Thanks for the suggestions so far!
