Murano Cenedese Glass?
« on: July 03, 2014, 11:29:36 PM »
I bought this piece at a Garage Sale recently, and I was wondering if it was REAL Murano Glass & if so, what it is worth?
Thank you for any help provided!

[Mod] Thank you for splitting out your items in to separate threads and for starting one of the new threads in the Paperweight forum. I have now deleted your original message that was in the Glass forum.

Welcome to the forum.

Nice item.

It looks good to me, perhaps 1950s in date. Value is really tricky and can depend on many variables. For a rough guide look for similar items that have sold on ebay or at auction, pay no attention to asking prices only those that have sold are of any use.

How tall is it?

John

Thanks for your comments.  The item is 32 cm.  Is it a candle holder? The item is in excellent condition any ideas on the value?

No sorry the market is better in the USA at the moment you could ask the auction house in California . or check on the net , but its a desirable item .

John,

Thank you for your help.  Unfortunately, I have had no luck finding something similar to it on the net to compare it to. If it is not a candle stick, could it be a vase? maybe I will just keep it, if I can't find out what to sell it for! Thank you, again.

If the end tube is the right size, I would say it is a candle holder. Antonio Da Ros did some candle holders with similar ends. I would say definitely a Da Ros design for Cenedese.
