Czechoslovakia glass label - ID = Haas & Czjzek
« on: July 07, 2014, 04:28:54 PM »
Hi, Can any body through any light on this label and vase. I have looked at various label identification websites but can't seem to find it. It says made in Czechoslovakia with the initials H & C below what look like to fir trees. Below the initials is the letter H surrounded by a larger C. The label is triangular. Any help greatly appreciated. Patrick

Possibly they outsourced and sold under the Haas & Czjzek name. They do not currently show crystal on their site. Old company that re-emerged in 1992. http://www.haasczjzek.cz/

In 19th century they bought a porcelain factory in Chodov (or Chodau) and this was also active again c2000. But no distinct link to glass. Perhaps if you contacted them. The Hungarian company is a retail operation but seemingly a separate entity that sells Moser and other high end glass but not with this label.

The vase looks like Zeledny Brod Sklo or Mstisov (I'll check in the morning.) The label could be the importer or retailer.

Hi Frank, Thanks very much for your reply. The label is definitely Haas & Czjzek and they do act as a retail outlet for Moser glass.

Hi David. I must admit that when I bought the vase I thought it was Mstisov but the label confused me.

Mstisov moved its production to Moser when the original factory became a coal mine. However, I'm pretty sure that this is a Klinger for ZBS. The colours make me think it might be a later version.

Hi David, thanks for the info. I just checked out Miloslav Klinger on 20th Century Glass website and the shape and colours are indeed similar to some of the items displayed. Also similar to the Rhapsody Range by F. Zemek who also worked for ZBS and Mstisov. Either way it is a lovely item and displays beautifully.
