Kralik?
« on: July 10, 2014, 10:52:56 PM »
I'm in conversation with a gentleman about purchasing this vase.  I believe it's Kralik as I've seen another Kralik piece with similar markings.  Does anybody recognize it?

Thank You
Rick

Hi

this has often been attributed to Kralik and occasionally to Pallme Koenig, but also, most recently, to Fritz Heckert (by the Passau Museum). I'd say probably one of the three but the Jury is still out!

Thanks Mike I think it's beautiful also. Have you seen something similar?

Mike's being modest, BDG55.
He is a top dealer in very high end glass, he has years and years of experience, which along with his love and enthusiasm of the glass, makes him a very reliable source of accurate information.

His opinion is held in very high regard indeed and if he doesn't know, or can only suggest three potential makers, I think that's about as good as one can hope for at the moment.  :)

Oh no, I definitely trust his opinion, but I was hoping to see another as I find this very exciting.  If it sounded as if I was questioning him, that was not my intention. Thanks for your input.

Don't worry, I just thought as you are relatively new here, you might not be aware of exactly who Mike is.
my bad!

Mike I do have a question about the value of the piece.  It is offered at $800.00 O.B.O. In your opinion, what is a fair market price for a piece like this?

Thanks Again
Rick

Value is always difficult and differs from country to country-

I will say that with those metallic applied flowers - it is very nice and very unusual

Thanks Mike.  Do you feel that I'd be overpaying at $600.00?

Thanks
Rick
