Blue vase ,Victorian?
« on: July 27, 2014, 10:16:34 AM »
Hi all, this vase is 20 cm with a broken pontil and alot of wear to the base,if it is old it's amazing the branch bit is still in tact,i'm guessing it's for hanging a piece jewelery and holding a single flower, maybe Bohemian although the rim is rounded, any thoughts many thanks.

It was probably part of a set/pair of vases linked by glass or metal chains and I might veer more towards English

I'm not sure the celery effect is exclusively English but yes likely part of a table decoration

It's quite amusing the straight laced victorians should have such a phallic symbols on the dinning table ;)
