The "style" would fit that of the 1992 Xmas weight: could be a "draft" for the 1993 Xmas weight, which was not accepted.

I was led to believe this was made in 1983 as per the date cane and have no reason to doubt this as all other weights were of around that time period including Charles and di weight from 1981 and the pom pom from 1982 and acorns from 1981 so I would say this weight was defo made in 83

Sorry - this was a typo - should have read 1982 and 1983 respectively.
