It would be strange if two 'seconds' came out with no faults and both with the same dimensions, maybe later production ?  ;D

But why no Webb mark if they were firsts? However, it would depend on how stringent they were with quality control - often we see such things as Caithness paperweights (marked CGII) which can have the smallest of blemishes. Perhaps we're not being critical enough?  ;D

Hello David, I've gone over both with a lens, no faults to be seen, maybe they were trying to save a bit of money by reducing the size, every little helps !  ::) ;D ;D

Found this today, the one on the left of the picture has the 'S' mark the other 'Thos Webb', difference in colour height and handle so it may well be a 'second'  ;D
