Odd Shaped Owl Vase - Any ideas???
« on: September 17, 2014, 07:33:51 PM »
Hi all,

I wonder if anyone can shed any light on this little owl vase please?  I found it at a car boot sale and thought it was really cute but no idea who made it?

There is a ground and polished pontil to the base and is iridised to the outside.  The base colour of the glass is a deep green/blue.

The height is 6.5 cms approx.

The lady I bought it from stated that it could be Austrian but thought it was very old.

Many thanks to all in anticipation.   :)

J

Could it be English Webb Bronze? I am not sure if the Bronze ranges are fully mapped, someone may be able to help more... perhaps a Webb bronze owl could be a rare breed...

Hi,

Many thanks for your replies!

The base colour of the vase is a deep green and the outside colour of the vase varies from a bronzy colour to maroon and then depending where the light hits the vase it turns into a green or gold.

It is a very cute little thing!
