Following Surrey Artists Open Studios in June Adam Aaronson has been nominated for
Surrey Artist of the Year, which is decided by public vote.

The way this works is that you can only vote if you actually go to New Ashgate Gallery in Farnham between September 27th and 16th October, view the superb work on show, and then vote for your favourite of the ten nominees,  which of course we hope will be Adam! The location is New Ashgate Gallery, Waggon Yard, Farnham, Surrey GU9 7PS

The prize, now in its sixth year, celebrates the partnership between New Ashgate Gallery and the Surrey Artists' Open Studios. It enables the public to take part and support artists in Surrey. The public was invited to vote during the Surrey Artists' Open Studios summer event. The artists receiving the most votes were invited to showcase their work as part of the Surrey Artist of the Year exhibition.

The shortlisted artists are Adam Aaronson, Christine Hopkins, Iona McKenzie Laycock, Rachel Mulligan,Terri Smart, Joe Szabo, Jean Tolkovsky, Jim Tucker, Clare Waterhouse, Barbara Westwell and Emily Westwell.

Visitors to the exhibition will be able to vote for their favourite artist again, during the first three weeks of the exhibition which runs from 27 September to 16 November 2014. The votes will be counted and combined with those from a panel of judges for the announcement of the Surrey Artist of the Year 2014 on 17th October. The winner will receive a solo exhibition at New Ashgate Gallery and a cash prize.

Remember, visit New Ashgate Gallery at Waggon Yard, Farnham, Surrey GU9 7PS between September 27th and 16th October, and vote for Adam Aaronson.

Good luck Adam from all your friends on the Glass Message Board.

Thanks very much, Angela and to all those who voted.

I was delighted to be nominated, and while I didn't win, I'm glad to say that the Surrey Artist of the Year 2014 was awarded to another glass maker, the stained glass artist Rachel Mulligan  http://www.rachelmulligan.co.uk/
