Id On this large amber vase
« on: June 05, 2006, 07:22:59 PM »
This amber vase came from a auction a few years ago ,it was not the item I was really buying , its been stuck in the garden shed for that time except it now being used now as a flower vase, its very heavy over 2.2 kgs , stands about 9.5 inches tall and is slightly ribbed, insigned and has a polished pontil mark, would be interested on any information, the only other items that I have seen in similar colour from are Stuart from the 1930's

many thanks roy

I think that would most likely be Empoli from the 1950s/1960s. I have quite a similar floor vase in bottle green - and bottle glass was the material of choice in Empoli. Likewise here, by the looks of it.
