« on: October 13, 2014, 09:49:44 AM »
Just a warning to any potential buyers what are in my opinion Paul Ysart fakes at auction
 http://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/auction-catalogues/thos-mawer-and-son-ltd/catalogue-id-2908507/lot-24142409?searchitem=true

This one is actualy pictured on the fakes page of Ysartglass.com, not so easy to see the PY cane on lot 665 but also looks wrong, have emailed them to let them know.

Definitely not by Paul Ysart.

Enlarging the images shows enough of the "py" canes to see that the "p" is orange/yellow and the "y" is pink. Genuine "py" canes have pink for both letters.

Could see the butterfly clearly and was pretty sure of the other, I have actually had an email from the auction house to say they are withdrawing them from the sale.

As will the many others.

But at least if info about their status is passed on, especially the point about the colours of the "p" and "y", more auctioneers and other folk will become aware.
