Page 182 in Charles Hajdamach's 'C20 Brit. Glass' discusses the history of the British company Pirelli Glass, who seem to have been quite big in these lampworked things in the 1950's and '60's.
Although they seem to have made some of their wares, they also imported material from 'Europe' but there don't appear to be any sources given - so dead end presumably.
Mention this as the b. & w. pix of Pirelli items in Hajdamach show pieces that have a distinctly exotic flavour, much like this piece.
It's possible that the more tropical looking examples could be Continental, as opposed to the reserved plain figures of rabbits, cats, chickens and horses which might have originated in the U.K.
