Wayne D Filan Studio Glass Vase London 1970
« on: February 08, 2015, 03:55:39 PM »
Thought I would add a few pictures for reference of this British Studio glass vase, blown by Wayne D. Filan.

Measures approx 19cm in diameter and 19cm tall and weighs 2.4kg.

Signed to the base 'Wayne D' Filan 1970 London'

Enjoy.

We've lost the *thud* emoticon, Greg and I need it for this - it's fabulous.
(much much nicer than my Wayne Filan, now I'm green and grumpy. :P  ;) )

Thanks for your kind words Sue.  I thought you would like this piece  :)

Certainly an accomplished piece, my first thoughts were Sam, until looking at the signature!

I'm sure Mr Herman once said even he couldn't tell his own work from Mr Filan's.
You're in good company. ;D

I can see it's got tin features as well as silver - it woud go so well beside my NT..., with my SH bottle on the other side!

Thanks John. Love the sense of movement and tactility with this piece. The burnt red which fades to clear also reminds me a little of the attached Herman piece from the last sixties.  :)

You've shown me that before, and that was exactly the piece your new WF reminds me of.
I'm going to go off and have a sulk. You're finding too many fabby treasures that make me jealous and make my finds look pathetic. ;D

A great piece Greg.
I've attached an image of mine, dated London 1969. It's quite boring in comparison.
A year would seem to make a lot of difference.

:-* Hiya stranger! thanks for the addition.
I'll have to get a pic of mine and add it. (Light is not good atm.)
Greg's is still the jammiest, isn't it?

Thanks Robbo.  Good to see another example of Wayne Filan's work, I think that makes at least 4 or 5 examples of his work that are now on the GMB.
