Topic: Gorgeous Blue Glass Bowl - ID help

Please help identify this glass:

It is heavy weighing 1398g. It measures 8" diameter and 5" high. The base does have a smooth pontil.

The top and bottom rim has a 1" smooth dark banding and the middle part is like a hammered/chipped frosted effect.

Any help would be much appreciated.

most of the books, including your links Anne, seem to be calling this a 'hammered effect - rather than fish scale. ??

I've seen very similar in TKMaxx, coming from India, or Eichendorf from Germany. This is more in keeping with the Indian ones than the German ones though, which were mostly a brownish-green in colour.

I know Paul, but to me it always looks like a fish scale!
