On what basis? Colour alone may not be enough. MDG would have used stock colours

Hi Christine,
Yes I agree that colour is not enough !
The quality and feel of them helps but again is not definitive.
Hopefully with the amount of production that took place a labeled piece will turn up.

Till then the 'Possible' attribution is the way to go...........

Cheers,

             Patrick.

I think these are almost certainly chinese. These fish look indentical to these chinese examples, https://www.etsy.com/listing/187532216/vintage-united-states-commemorative-fine

Hi,
I don't agree.......... I have two of the 'Chinese fish' and as you can see from the attached image they are not similar. The crimping on the angel fish (vase) is very similar to the side fins on the fish ashtrays..

Cheers,

Patrick

The fish in the set on Etsy does look the same colour as the rest of the animals but the base is quite different and it is strange that it does not have a label. Is it really part of the 'set'?
I think the Etsy fish looks more detailed than either of your blue fish Patrick, and the multi-coloured fish attached to the vase looks different and even more detailed again.
So are we trying to match up the unmatchable?

I have two of the 'Chinese fish'

Hi, Having looked again perhaps my Chinese fish are not the same as those of 'What Ho'..........  but I still stand by my colour theory !

The blue colour of the Chinese is not found in the vases and the red and green vases are not found in the Chinese fish.

We need a labled vase !
