Glass VIKING - ID=Nybro
« on: June 15, 2006, 04:34:47 PM »
In a charity shop yesterday I came across this magnificent Viking.

He is solid glass and weigh 2 lbs 12oz aka 1.24 kilos.

He stands almost 7" high aka 17.5 cm.

The moulded detail on him is superb, as the photos show. Does anyone know who made him? I have seen the previous two threads that show Vikings, but he doesn't appear there.

He's very handsome and beautifully done. Quite different to the others. He deserves a real name not a comic name

Glen,
He's great, isn't he? Sorry I can't help you with id. You wouldn't want to meet him on a long-boat coming up the Humber would you?

Hi Glen,

Your gorgeous Viking is made by Nybro, Sweden:

If I know, I'll comment. If I think I know, I'll have a go. If I have no idea, I'll just keep quiet and learn from others, so the next time I'll know.

Della! THANK YOU. Thank you so much.

There he is, and he's the large one. My gosh - you're a genius, how did you find him?

My thanks, too, to Robbo and Christine, for your kind comments.

Thanks again. I'm indebted.

Hi Glen,

Glad to be able to do something for you, for a change.

He just screamed Scandinavia to me. (Well he would really   )

So I just went through the glass makers that I knew of. Just typing in glass viking or any combination thereof, just gives you Viking Glass

Luckily, it was the second company that I came up with, and there he was.

He is fabulous :!:
