Hello!

My mother was given as a wedding gift back in 1992 a set of glassware that is quite similar to Tapio Wirkkala's Ultima Thule. We have been trying to trace where it is actually from, trying to find out what the signature says. All I have been able to find out -but this is merely an assumption- is that the signature starts with the letter "ž", which belongs to the Czech alphabet (among other slavic ones).

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Paula

I'm sure someone with far more knowledge than myself will be able to tell you but have you looked at Vladimir Zahour ?

THANK YOU SO MUCH!  :o I actually think it's his! I can't really find these exact glasses but his other work matches these :)

You'll have good karma for the rest of the month :)

Hahaha to be honest that signature was a bit hard to read if you didn't know what you were looking for.

The glasses were bought in 1982 (made a mistake up there sorry) and I read he worked at Poděbrady until 1985. I'm trying to find this glassware set but I haven't managed to find a single thing... I'll keep on looking!

Thank you all for your help! if you have any tips on where to find this exact set please let me know. My mother has some damaged pieces and were looking to replace them.

Have a lovely night!

P
