Maltese ? Glass Bottle Vase. ID = MDG
« on: April 14, 2015, 06:41:54 PM »
This bottle vase looked very Maltese to me but not Mdina but I could be very wrong. I thought it may be Malta Decorative Glass as it did not look very Phoenician or Mtarfa but not really sure so any help would be much appreciated in confirming an ID .

Just interested if I am heading in the right direction.

Height just under 4"
Weight 444gm

Thanks Roy

Absolutely.  :)
Green MDG! My favourite. I have one.

Thanks to both of you for confirming that it is MDG. Its only from reading posts on this board that I have seen other pieces of MDG.

Thanks Roy

If you look very carefully at the base, you should see vague gouges in the polished flat base - it won't be absolutely flat, but very faintly "battutto". That is another indication of MDG - but the actual colour green is the real giveaway.
It's a nice one - with a lovely slim delicate flange and gorgeous decor.
