Massive mystery vase marked Kaiser 37
« on: January 26, 2012, 08:21:56 PM »
Hello All,

Here is a large (14" tall) and heavy (11 lbs.) vase that is a puzzle.  It is diamond shaped with a 1/2" thick flat polished rim, and molded bumpy sides with fossils (ammonites - snail like) on it.

It is marked "KAISER 37" on the flat polished bottom, with a European crossed seven.  The mark is written in mirror writing so that the proper way to read it is to peer down through the top.

The Kaiser Porcelain Co. of Germany had a line of ceramic fossil vases, among which are some that are quite similar to this one, with ammonites, etc.  However, I can't find anything that indicates that they ever made glass.

Any ideas?

Thanks for looking, Adair

It might or might not help, but there's a different Kaiser vase on eBay here:

Thanks Anne, I did see this vase just before I posted.  But got little info other than the fact that there is another glass vase with a Kaiser mark on it.

Guess it'll remain a mystery,

Adair

Adair, hi!

Did you ever find out anything further on this vase?  We have one also, I posted a thread about it last week.  Another mystery for sure!
