In summary, my view is that this is typically Ysart Brothers period and ties in well with other close pack weights from that period. The canes are a mix of "poorer" and "better" quality which is usually the case with weights that could have been made by Vincent, Augustine or Salvador - but it does not have any canes that would fit with "Salvador personal canes".
Matched Cane?
Sophie's comment about the matched cane is interesting and there certainly are known examples of "shared" canes in "PY" and "Ysart Bros or later" weights. However, the detail shows that this example is not one of them.
The central element differs as does the outer row. In Gary's weight the central element is orange with no outer coating but in Sophie's it is "more red" and has a yellow outer coating. In Gary's the outer row is six yellow canes of the same structure, but in Sophie's it has twelve canes; six yellow-over-clear alternating with six yellow-over-white.
