Salviati? glass pink green gold dolphin help please.
« on: May 25, 2015, 06:13:53 PM »
One of my most beautiful recent finds, any help with an age or maker would be good please.

5 1/2 inches in total height, 3 3/4 inches across the rim and 2 7/8th inches across the base, this has a turned over folded foot and a small rough pontil, the mid section is clear glass.

Regards Chris.

Utterly extravagant, it all looks spot on, that honeycomb mesh like pattern in gold leaf is a nice touch.

As far as I know not precisely, best guess is 1870 to 1900. I don't know if there was any particular preference for more colourful wares at any point, that two colour spiral is a nice variation too.
