Iridescent Glass Vase - Loetz or Kralik? ID = Kralik
« on: June 15, 2015, 06:16:36 PM »
Hi, I'm new to the forum and was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of the maker of a piece of glass I picked up at a flea market this past weekend?  :)
I believe it dates to the beginning of the 20th century and have noticed similarities to the works of Loetz and Kralik, but other than that have no real idea as to its origin.

It measures approx. 13cms tall and has a beautiful array of colours, ranging from from a deep red(at the base) to a light blue, all on a light peach coloured base, with an iridescent coating. It also seems to have some darker spots of decoration which look to have come from a cane of glass(if that makes any sense).

Thanks ever so much in advance!

Also, my apologies for the not so great pictures, I'm more than happy to provide others if necessary!

Welcome to the forum.

Kralik it is, one of the patterns described as Millefori: http://www.kralik-glass.com/kralikmillefioriarray.html

I think they were made in the 1920s.

Nice to have a vase, I have only found bowls. Nice bowls so I am not complaining!

   Your bowls are utterly beautiful!
Sadly at the moment we're trying to downsize, so the vase will be making its way on to the sale section of the forums.
Many thanks again for your help!
