This date might well be incorrect. I searched The Times of Malta archive and found the first adverts for Phoenician Glass were printed on 26/03/1986.

I havee just found a bit of marked Mdina with a sticky label for the "Artisans' Centre Valetta Malta" on it.
Piccie soon. (It's a red, cloudy helter skelter, the Mdina script is fairly early.)

As I'm currently in Malta, I discovered that Mtarfa changed its name to Valletta. In fact, the till roll in the shop selling Valletta glass is still marked 'Mtarfa'.

Yes Mtarfa changed to Valletta in 2007 but in was a change in name only, same premises etc.
