Topic: Sowerby RD 334641 of 28 April 1879, pattern 1394 pot, salt or whatever

Another Sowerby rarity, a little pot, vase, salt, or whatever,  5.5cm square x 2.3cm tall, marked with the Peacock trademark and lozenge for 28 April 1879 – Parcel 7, RD 334641.

It appears as Sowerby pattern 1394 on page 11 of their pattern book  IX (1882).

The glass body is somewhat obscured by remnants of gilding or gold paint but appears to be black vitro-porcelain. (Sowerby pieces are not normally completely gilded so I suspect that the remnants are gold paint).
