my first Murano fish (I hope!)
« on: August 26, 2015, 02:38:13 PM »
Last weekend, I bought what I hope is a Murano fish at a yard sale... for ten cents (photo attached).

Yesterday morning I got lucky and found a representation of my fish on-line!

http://www.antiques-atlas.com/antique/murano_gold__blue_cased_fish_...

He is not the shark on the right... he is the fish on the left... and I'd love to learn more about him.  Thank you.

Your fish does look to have been made on Murano, they can be hard to pin down to one particular maker though. A good place to start looking is the Murano Zoo: https://sites.google.com/site/muranozoo/

Just look in the fish section, unless of course you want to be there all day!

Murano glass is normally signed or has a label stuck on it. Could you please take a picture of the bottom of your fish?

What better than a beatiful Murano glass vase?

No label; it was found at a yard sale, and that was the first place I checked.  But thanks!  I appreciate the input.   :)
