Vasart? bought in Roma
« on: September 23, 2015, 08:16:22 PM »
I just bought it in an antiques shop in Roma (quite inexpensive).
I'm quite sure it's not Murano but Scottish.
Maybe Vasart? How old could this be?

Hi Pandelune,

The thick, white twist canes strongly suggest it was made in the Strathearn Glass years (1964 - 1980). However, the central millefiori canes look like earlier period ones from the 1940s / 50s or even 1930s. The use of early (pre-1956) canes in later Vasart Ltd / Strathearn Glass weights is quite common.
