Hi all,

A short while ago some very kind members of the GMB identified some Art Nouveau wine glasses for me.  This is another wine glass / goblet which I am hoping someone can help to identify who made it.

It is signed to the base (please see photo's) and the only thing I can read on the base is London 1970.

I can't make out the first name but it does look to be a foreign name.  First word ending in possible KI ?? but can't make out the rest.

The glass has a snapped off pontil in the centre and polished flat surround.  The glass measures approximately 20 cms tall and the stem appears to be made of two sections joined one on top of the other.  The bowl also seems to have an outer tide line of glass towards the top.

I look forward to hearing from you and thank you in advance.

J

Hi,

Thank you  :)

I have now had a quick look on Google and it appears that he was one of the early artists around working with the likes of Sam Herman.

Many thanks again  :)

You beat me to it, m. Perfectly correct. :)
I was checking my copy of "The Glasshouse and its Tree", but Mr Suhajek is not mentioned as being at the RCA or the Glasshouse - which surprised me - I had always thought he was there. ???

I think there was a big 'gathering' in 1970, with numerous glass artists, he being one and Benny Motzfeld was there as well iirc?
