Topic: Any Information Please on Stunning Okra Glass Lamp?

Hi all

Please can anyone give me any information about this stunning Okra glass lamp?

A recent purchase, the man selling it didn't know anything about the lamp other than the fact that it was made by Okra Glass.

The height is approx 41 cms to the top of the shade and the lift off mushroom shaped top is approx 23 cms wide.

The bottom 3 inches is of iridized swag decoration and the figures around the lamp are in relief and also iridized.

The main colour of the lamp is a deep red / orange with black areas.

I wasn't aware that Okra Glass made lamps and can't find any on the google images.

Hello J, I presume there aren't any marks, can't say I've ever seen an Okra lamp before, you could try emailing them or Richard Golding at Station Glass,

Hi Keith,

I was meant to photograph the base but forgot, the lamp has an Okra Glass label on the base of which I now attach a picture 

The man who sold it to me had no other pieces of glass but mainly had Moorcroft Pottery and other ceramics.

Like you said, if all else fails, I will photograph and email Richard Golding or Okra to see if they can shed any light on it or positively identify the piece.

Very nice John, have a blue Charlock, in regards to J's piece the label is right, was that when Okra was owned by Moorcroft ?

There is a Golding piece called "Moon Dancer" (google it) which to me shows the same figures as on this lamp.

Aaargh ! too old to be a groupie, do have a few of his pieces, Okra and Station glass
