Bianconi gallo e gallina unsigned
« on: January 11, 2016, 11:00:10 AM »
Hi all. Would welcome some guidance.

I have a pair of gallina e gallo from Bianconi. These were handed down directly from Bianconi to a relative Gino Poli who worked with him in the 1960's at Venini. The interesting thing is that they are unmarked. (No signatures/venini marks).

We wondered if:

a. They were never for sale.
b. They are seconds (though I see no issues with them)
c. They are prototypes.

Does anyone have any hard facts on this issue or even just some thoughts on why they are unsigned.

They were given to him in the 1960's so are early versions.

Any help much appreciated.

Given the attitude of the Bianconi estate in respect of his work, I suggest that you may be well-advised to approach them for this information directly: http://fulviobianconi.com/expertise/. If you do so please let us know how you get on. :)
