Hi, this is my first post here. You were recommended by a pgp boardie, I hope you can help me with this bowl.  Any suggestions-ideas welcome and appreciated.  It is 2 1/2" x 8 1/2".  TIA

Hi,

It's very pretty.

I believe it to be circa 1970s Murano glass. However, it is what we call "generic" murano glass, mass produced for export and the tourist trade.  I have never seen or heard of these being found with the name of any important factory.

I have seen bowls similar to this being described as made by AVEM.  There is one on ebay at the moment.  The seller describes it as being AVEM, made by Dino Martens.  The 'buy it now' price is £70.

I've seen hundreds of these bowls for many years, but never one shred of evidence that they were made by AVEM.

They are quite different from the so called "tutti-fruity" pieces, which have much finer filigrana work, and are rarely this shallow.
