Cut glass decanter pattern or signature help please.
« on: February 15, 2016, 04:58:48 PM »
I have a pair of these both signed on the upper shoulder. I have seen this pattern three times now, i'm not really sure how old it is though. The brandy glasses i had in this pattern looked 1950's.

The cutting is very sharp so i'm guessing not acid polished.

There 17 cm in height with the stopper in.

any thought's welcome.

regards Chris.

I do not believe that is a signature. It looks too clumsy.

Yes i'll have to agree with that, perhaps early Graphitti by a former owner, the stopper must of taken half day to make cut and polish, even the underside is cut, there both hand made no moulding completely different.

Looks like a stylised signature to me (sorry no idea who) especially if you have two the same.

Strange place to sign an article...does not make sense as the decanters look quality?

Thought this might cheer Paul up, i found out today this one is relatively  modern made by Yasemin glass, never heard of them before but must be giving American brilliant cut glass collectors a right headache.
