German glass net float. ID = Heye Glass
« on: April 22, 2016, 04:04:59 PM »
I recently obtained a fishing net float which is about 12 inches in diameter and is marked with Made in Germany surrounding a clover leaf. Can anyone tell me about this float or where I might get information on it?

Welcome to the message board.

There is a good article on floats here, there is also a photo of a mark that sounds similar attributed to a company called Heye Glass: http://www.theglassmuseum.com/fishingfloats.htm

There is more than one shamrock like mark, is it similar to the mark in this photo?

Yes that is the mark but it is surrounded by the words made in Germany

I made a mistake on the diameter I gave the circumference instead. Diameter  is close to 5 inches. Sorry about that

You'll find a history of the company (in German) and many old photographs on
