I picked these up today. I looked in the book Fire and Sea and found similar stickers but not exactly the same color as the one on these. The sticker on these is blue and cellophane and I didn't find that one in the book. My question is...can anyone can give me any information as to when these may have been made? As always any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi Cathy,
I've seen a pair of these on eBay some time ago, with similar stickers, described I *think*, as designed by Kerttu Nurminen. There was no reference for the attribution to her, so I'd take it with a pinch of salt.

I've a similar sticker on a Björn Weckström vase, in production, I believe, late 70s/80s -  not particularly helpful, I know, but maybe a clue!

It's difficult to read the bottom line in the photo, but is it "Wärtsilä Finland"?  If so, that would at least suggest production pre-1988, when Wärtsilä ceased to be Nuutajärvi's parent company, after the merger with Iittala. I've also a Tiina Nordström paperweight, with a similar sticker. She only designed for them from 1988. The bottom line on that one reads "Made in Finland" - I'll post a photo when my camera has recharged.

I have an egg with the same type of stopper - it seems to be for breakfast cereal or something, and it has an Iittala sticker. Which means these items have been in production for much longer....

Thanks Lustrousstone, Robbo & Ivo. The sticker does indeed say "Wärtsilä Finland"

Hi all,
Here's the paperweight / sculpture & label. This must be 1988 or later.
