Need help indentifying glass animal and glasses
« on: July 11, 2006, 10:02:21 PM »
Hello everyone, I've been browsing the site for sometime (Love it), but never post.  I've tried to find information about the glass pieces I have, with no luck!  I have (7) very thick and heavy amber colored glasses. They are a  amber color with a darker color amber or black blotches/spots, almost like a animal print.  Four of the glasses are 5in high, three are about 4 inches. They have the "Pontil" mark on them, I don't see any other marks.

Next- I have a beautiful glass animal, not sure if it's a
horse, stallion? But, clear in color,it stands 10in high, 4!/2 in. long. It's standing on all  4 legs, the maine is standing up, goes down the back and yellow in color.
From the right of the figure, the body has red going thru it, with a little white. However, when looking at it from the left, you see yellow running thru it.  The tail also has yellow running thru it.  The legs look as though they were applied separately, they're very detailed, even down to the muscles in the legs! Eyes are small glass circles.
Last- Funny looking glasses, about 4in. also very thick glass.  Blue & white swirl like pattern,( possible opaque) the front of the glasses has funny looking character faces, (maybe clown) with eyes, eye brows, nose, with a white mouth.  All of the facial  features are made out of glass, (brown color glass).  They have applied glass going around the sides of them, almost reminds me of hair!  These too have that "pontil" mark!
I hope someone will be able to understand my descriptions enough to help me.  I do have photo's on cd, but I'm not sure how to post them, or  if that is even possible.

Thanks in advance!
Brownie

Hi Brownie, welcome to the board. Yes, you can add pics to your messages. We have some nice easy help for how to do that here: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,6522.0.html

It is best to put one item per new message rather than all items in one message. Otherwise it gets confusing when people reply and talk about different bits in the same thread. Make each new message subject relevant to the item to catch the attention of the folks who would best be able to help with identifying your pieces.

If you get stuck with the pics please ask for help. Good luck!  8)
Cheers! Anne, da tekniqual wizzerd
