Hadeland Glass Made in China?
« on: July 28, 2016, 06:05:40 PM »
Hi,
I was surprised when I saw the Made in China label on the box of these 2 glass pieces - they both have Hadeland Norway on the bases.
Are these really Hadeland?
They are small, 2" & 3" in height.
Thanks for any information.

Thanks Christine!  Is it just the box made in China?

I would think Hadeland will be contracting out to a place where labour and fuel are cheaper than Norway, they'll have been made in China, not just the box.
Waterford and Caithness both contract out.

Thanks again Christine, I had no idea. Seems so many items are now being made off-shore.

Businesses prefer cheap/slave labour and to be using countries which have no added expenses like health and safety regulations. More profit.

Thanks Sue! My apologies, I called you Christine in the other post.
I know. I try to avoid buying from companies that do this but it is getting harder and harder.

And I never mind being confused with Christine - I'm not so sure about the other way around. ;)
