English Pressed Glass Trafalgar Square Lion Paperweights
« on: August 01, 2016, 03:27:02 AM »
Hello,

My grandfather brought two pressed glass lions with him when he came to Canada in 1920.  They are the lions from Trafalgar Square.  They  look like they are copies of the glass lions by Derbyshire.  I am certain they are not Derbyshire because they do not have the JD and anchor mark or lossange on the bottom.  Also the scalloped base does not go all the way to the bottom.  There is a thin line of non-scalloped glasss right at the bottom.  I am hoping someone can tell me who made the lions and/or when they were made.  Each is is about 4" long by just over 2.25 inches high.  One weighs 130g and one weighs 140g.

Thank you
