« on: September 21, 2016, 05:17:26 AM »
Hello, I bought this large footed bowl, and it looks like WMF glass to me, except I've never seen a footed WMF bowl....does anyone know if it is indeed WMF glasss?

Hi..... I had a peruse through the WMF Ikora and Myra pattern book and could not find anything similar.... but then I did not really expect to.

My instinct is telling me its very unlikely to be WMF for the following reasons

The pattern across the bowl, although to a certain extent random, looks a little too controlled....and appears to be in just two colours

I have never seen a piece of WMF with the finish that it has underneath ...is that an enamel coating of some kind  ...looks much more like a finish used by some of the Italian makers

It just does not feel right .....

None of the above mean it definitely isn't.... but then again !!!!

Nice piece though

cheers    Gareth

Thanks for your reply....I know....it's mysterious.....it almost looks like WMF Myra on the outside and Ikora on the inside....
