Is this a Chance Fiesta paperweight?
« on: September 28, 2016, 12:35:05 PM »
I'm not sure what the dimensions of the Chance Fiesta paperweights are, but this one is just over 3.25" (8.5cm) diameter x approx. 1" depth.  It isn't shown in either of David's books but I thought it might just be one of theirs ???
TIA :)

I have the identical one, Anne, in a box which is labelled. It is on the board somewhere.
The label says, 'Crescent Glass - Black Country Museum'
If I know, I'll comment. If I think I know, I'll have a go. If I have no idea, I'll just keep quiet and learn from others, so the next time I'll know.

Many thanks Della and Keith :-*
From dimensions given in the previous discussion http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,63601.msg356801.html#msg356801 it seems as though mine has a much bigger diameter, so may be this precludes it from having a Chance Fiesta connection as presumably they'd all be the same size ???

Ah, I've just noticed that yours has an extra ring around the star, Anne. If I wasn't off to Devon this weekend, I would've gone to the Museum as I don't live that far away (shame on me, 8 years in the West Midlands and never been  ::) ) Maybe next weekend  ;D

I think it might be an optical illusion Della.  The 8 pointy star extends right to the edge of the disc.  Its a lot plainer than the ones shown in the link.
I really must stop buying obscure bits of glass and stick to what I know ::)  My "unknowns" shelf is getting too big.
Enjoy your stay in Devon and if you manage to get further down to the S.W. pop in for a cuppa :)
