Topic: French ? Enamelled Powder Jar / Trinket POt

I bought this because I thought my wife would like it , but she was not that keen on it.

I think it's enamelled and most likely hand painted. My best guess would be French and 1920's . Any other thoughts welcomed.

It does look very similar style to your vase. I had tested it with a UV light and it is not uranium, the base is not painted and is clear glass.

The jar has a good weight of about 320gm.

sorry, not a clue as to provenance/origin of this one - although my first thought was that it might have been 'inside painting', but presumably not.
Not so sure it couldn't have originated from a variety of sources on the Continent.

But  -  knock me down with a feather - I've looked at Michael's piece in his link, from last year  -  the satinated surface with rustic/scenic enamelled painting, and am staggered to learn that this glows enough to burn the curtains down.    So need someone to explain to me how this glows since I can't see any visible green/blue/yellow casing??               May we see a picture of the glow, please Michael

sorry, took me some time to dig out the UV light photograph (I knew I had taken it).
I posted it in the linked thread, so not to mix up the discussions...
The green glow is even visible in my daylight pics, though admittedly not very obvious.
Dirk's pieces shown in the other thread are Uranium as well

many thanks Michael - no doubt about the green-ness there.               Uranium within glass of this colour/type is not something that I've seen previously, so this is something new for me..............    and had it been mine am sure I'd never even have thought of looking for a glow.
Nice piece by the way, and possible that the imagery is improved by having this hidden green aura.
