Caithness Festival of Colour paperweight
« on: January 06, 2017, 05:15:28 PM »
Hi all,

For some time now, I have been in search of this particular Caithness paperweight, called "Festival of Colour", designed by Colin Terris in 1999 for the Art Institute of Chicago. I believe it was a Limited edition of 75.

If anyone provide me with any information on how or from whom I might obtain/purchase one, that would be much appreciated.... thanks!

Attached is the only photo I could find of it...

Hi.  If I find one. I will let you know. I would imagine that any examples are likely to be found in th US, though.

Hi blee, sorry I have not commented earlier. And sorry that my comments are of the "moderation" type.

Firstly I have moved the thread to this Market Place forum as that is where "wants", "sales" etc belong.

Secondly, I am assuming the photo you show is not your own. If that is true then unless you have permission for reuse on the GMB, it will have to be deleted in accordance with the Board Policy on copyright images. It is ok to post a link to the original image.

Hi KevinH,

No worries... sorry about that, and thanks for moving this to the appropriate place!

As for the photo... I actually took a photo of another old photo that I had saved on my computer a long time ago (if that makes sense!?!) so that I could manipulate the size of the new photo and post it as a jpg!! So I will leave it up to you whether or not you need to delete it... no problem either way.

Cheers!

Have you tried contacting Caithness directly?
They do (or at least they certainly did) keep hold of some old stock and have been releasing some of it bit by bit in their shop in the visitor centre in Crieff.
I've just looked at the one in the link Christine posted and it looks a bit familar, I'm sure I've seen one like that in the shop. It's a bit garish and distinctive - I like garish and it stuck on me a bit.
