Skrdlovice Palecek 7719 query
« on: January 06, 2017, 07:30:02 PM »
I am a bit puzzled by a vase that i have seen offered for sale labelled as Skrdlovice 7719 by Ladislav Palecek and is 25cm tall.
The Skrdlovice pattern book shows the larger 7719 vase as being 28cm and it tapers at the top to a narrow rim, whereas this vase is much wider at the top with a slightly flared rim and is also 3cm shorter.
Was there this much variation from the pattern book? Or is this not a genuine 7719 vase?

Thanks

Matt

Nothing special, the size was always aproximate, tolerance 2 cm was always accepted.
Yours one, however, looks a bit unsymetrical, so seems to me that your piece had not been accepted for selling, excluded, but stolen by some from workers and sold or given as gift out of official distribution.

Tons of glass had dissapeared from Skrdlovice glasswork every year (this info comes from former director of Skrdlovice glassworks Jaroslav Svoboda). Do nothing unique or an special design.

Sorry about it.
