Help needed to id Holmgaard Vase please..
« on: July 24, 2006, 05:17:11 PM »
Hello all,

wondering if anyone could enlighten us as to the design, designer and period of this Kastrup Holmgaard vase. It has the blue and white swan label, it stands 22.5 cm tall.

All info greatly appreciated.

Ooh, never seen one of these before. It's very pretty.

Can't help you on design/designer, but the label dates it 1965-1972/73. That it's unsigned (I'm assuming) means it's more likely 70s.

Although... the photograph makes it look like it comes apart at the blue bit towards the base. If so, then it's a candle-holder and shade.

Hi Nic and many thanks for your info on the vase.

You are correct to assume that it's unsigned and as for the base detatching it is actually all one piece so not a candle holder and shade.

There is a slight ridge running around the bottom of the vase where the solid base sectoin meets the upper part.

Many thanks again for sharing your knowledge.

If anyone else can add to this we would appreciate it.
