NachtMann or Bavaria Crystal Vase
« on: March 02, 2017, 04:19:35 PM »
Hi everybody!

A while ago, I've bought a green crystal vase.
With help on glassmessages I identiefied it as:
NACHTMANN BLEIKRISTAL
**BAMBERG-PATTERN**

(See pictures)

Here's the same one I found online:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/269420664/nachtmann-bamberg-emerald-green-cut-lead

Now I have bought another vase, ALMOST identical, in red.
Only this one has a sticker on it saying: "BAVARIA GERMANY".
(See pictures)

Now I've been searching online and found 2 identical vases
with a sticker saying:   "JOSKA and/or BODENMAIS".

See examples:

The big questions:
-Who is the maker of the red vase? ,&...
-Is my green vase indeed made by Nachtmann?.

I really hope somebody can help me with this.
In the past I already bought a glass box which
eventually turned out to be "labeled" with the wrong sticker.

Thank you very much!
R.Antonis

The Nachtmann Bamberg vase is not identically cut to your green vase.

Is there a link between Nachtman an Joska at all?

I'm sorry. I see it now.

A while ago I found one, exactly the same.
Couldn't find the link anymore.

In my rush I found this one, thinking it was the one I saw before.

Any link between Nachtmann and Joska. I have no idea really.
To me it just looked like each other very much.

Then you could do some research :) this is a nice time to do some internet searching to see if you can find a link between the companies.

Maybe ... someone else was making it for both of them?
or perhaps they were making for each other.
Or maybe Joska was bought out by Nachtmann or vice versa?

This is how to learn about your glass :) have fun.

Haha I think you're right.

I was just stressing because I've put my geen vase on an online auction.
Selling it as (and of course, believing it was) a Nachtmann vase.

Until I found the Red Bavaria one. Then I started doubting.

I'll let you know what I can find.

 ;)
